Sharing from the Heart

I have finally started this blog after many years of writing from my heart and finding that the feedback I received was from encouraged and touched friends and family. The stories and writings I post on here will be personal experiences and moments that have changed my life and challenged my heart and mind to grow.

As many know, on September 10th 2009 I lost the man that I loved dearly, to the war in the mountains of Afghanistan. My life has been forever changed by the news I received over the phone that night, and each day since has provided a challenge for my heart and mind to battle and overcome.

This blog contains many of my thoughts as I have placed one foot in front of the other, since September 2009, and walked the journey before me. What I have come to realize is that it is often the most difficult moments and days that ultimately play the leading role in preparing our hearts for giving and receiving love once more.

Our lives are much like an intricately woven tapestry. Only it is often, if not always, hard to see the beauty through our pain. We stand too close and try to make sense of all the knots and multi colored thread that go every which way, and don't make any sense to us. It's only when we choose to stand back and turn the piece over that we can see the intended design that the ultimate artist is trying to weave from our lives. More importantly we can learn to understand that all the knots on the back, which may indeed be mistakes, can make our lives stronger. We can also begin to see the beauty of all our relationships, even the ones that are lost or have caused pain in whatever way. We can see how their lives are woven into our tapestry to create more strength and vibrant color in our lives.

I invite you to travel alongside me on this journey and share in discovering the beauty of your own unique tapestry...and learn to appreciate all the knots and mismatched colorful threads as they are added from our experiences along the way!

Much Love, Meg
